Thanks to its looser TV-PG rating, Hulu's Animaniacs is able to include more adult-oriented humor than the '90s series did, with Season 1 featuring gags that allude to legalized weed and internet pornography. Most of Animaniacs Season 1's episodes were composed of two segments featuring the Warner siblings, with a third segment focusing on Pink and The Brain's ongoing schemes to take over the world. Season 1 also brought back Maurice LaMarche as the diabolical lab mouse known as The Brain, with Paulsen once again voicing his good-natured, silly companion Pinky. Rob Paulsen, Jess Harnell and Tress MacNeille reprise their voice roles as Yakko, Wakko and Dot Warner for the revival show, picking up in real-time after the original series ended in 1998. Developed by Wellesley Wild, Hulu's Animaniacs is a continuation of the 1990s animated series of the same name, which ran for five seasons.
